The Little Book of Spoogy Poetry

October 30th, 2010

Ok so this isn’t really gothic or horror or scary even but it is a [collection of Halloween poetry](http://turquoise.monsters.wigglypets.co.uk/?cat=7) I have written for my little girl complete with illustrations and I thought some of you might be interested in it – with mummies eating cherry pie and monsters under the bed!

Fairy Tales

October 29th, 2010

[Fairy Tail](http://turquoise.monsters.wigglypets.co.uk/?p=112) is a poem in which I tell the sad story of Hansel and Gretal. These old childhood stories are a great source of material for the aspiring horror writer. Some of the stories are really very twisted especially if you go back to some of the older versions of the tales!

Clothed

October 28th, 2010

[Clothed](http://turquoise.monsters.wigglypets.co.uk/?p=109) is a poem I thought could act as gothic inspiration. It is one of mine written for the WoPoWriMo challenge in February. It is very teenage girl which why I thought it would suit this!

Done it!

October 27th, 2010

I have reached the 20 K mark though the story is not actually finished yet so that has to be the first thing to happen – it is as always expanding when I am not looking :/

But I have achieved my first GothNoWriMo!!!!

Here I am doing a victory dance!

Scandle Vanished

October 26th, 2010

Again this is a [poem](http://turquoise.monsters.wigglypets.co.uk/?p=103) that came out of the Monster Writing Game. It is more dark comedy I suppose but I thought it had a resonance with this sort of topic.

More on Gothic Influences

October 25th, 2010

One of things that I have found that produces the darker stories for my Friday Flash efforts are art exhibits – especially sculptures in Churches and Cathedrals. You not only have a slightly gothy atmosphere to begin with but there is lots in the actual art too.

I tend to wonder around Gloucester Cathedral for this end.

What Do You Know About Angles

October 24th, 2010

This is a piece of [Visual Poetry](http://turquoise.monsters.wigglypets.co.uk/?p=66) I did, I think this is very gothic and could lead to some great writing personally.

I will get onto other peoples work at some point honest :/ Just thought I’d start with my own!

The Cataract

October 23rd, 2010

[The Cataract](http://turquoise.monsters.wigglypets.co.uk/?p=101) is a poem I want to do a little bit of editing on but reminds me of the ending of the original Haunted House film. I think even in it’s current state it could be useful stimuli for the horror writer.

Which Direction?

October 22nd, 2010

Do I have my heroine survive or do I have her join the ranks in this story? This is my main issue at the moment as I speed towards the end of at least my 20, 000 word goal if not the story.

I shan’t tell you what I decide though 😉

Spirits of Trees

October 21st, 2010

[Spirits of Trees](http://turquoise.monsters.wigglypets.co.uk/?p=95) is another poem I constructed from the Monster Writing game and though the poem is quiet cheerful in itself I feel that there is a seed of a horror story lurking within. The sort that the old folk songs sing about!
